Soooo close!!

I changed how I water this one, now it gets showers twice a week rather than the water can/misting bottle routine. That has helped the bud production some, and I finally picked up some Bloom Busters and fed it to my Hoya bella. Unfortunately, not before she blasted another 6 or 7 peduncles and blooms, but there are three left including this big beauty I spotted this morning. Fortunately, they grow back quickly. It is keeping them that is the issue.

Cross your fingers everyone. I haven't seen buds this big since my mom's plant, they just might make it this time! I also picked up some High Brix molassess fertilizer, have not fed any to H. bella but trying it on some of my other Hoya.

I had bella a couple years ago and she did great. Bloomed a few times for me, too. I used the same fertilizer for her as the rest of my Hoyas, which is Miracle Gro Tomato Food. They seem to really love it. I read a tip on here how it might help promote flowering and new growth. It sure does the trick for new growth as well :).

I hope your buds make it all the way!

Thanks Brad. My mom can bloom these like its going out of style with nothing but those stupid plant food sticks. Granted, it definitely liked Michigan better. I will look into the tomato food later. Right now I am going to stick with the MBB for flowering sized plants, High Brix for the others, and the occasional foliar feeding with Tappin Roots. All the same, always happy to hear what works for folks so I can store it away for later.

You're welcome. The way some of my Hoyas are looking, they are telling me they want to go outside, but it still is getting cold some nights (went down to 18 the other night-a friend lost the flowers on his Magnolia tree). I did use Eleanor's VF-11 once, and they plants seemed to like it. I have never heard any of the brands you listed. I may have to look for those.

Tappin Roots is a kelp and willow extract number, I have been using it as a foliar spray. My plants realy like that one. High brix molasses was recently recommended so I am giving it a go, I need to do a bit more research on it though. I am still in the experimental stage with fertilizer myself. My plants seem happy enough, but I continue to tweak things.

It was super hot and dry here, hoping to not have a repeat. H. bella does not like it hot.

    Yay!

Right now, the only thing I have budding up is javanica. Everyone else is too busy trying to strangle each other with new growth. Many of mine are pushing out peduncles, though!

    Woo Hoo !!!

Not much growing here, sadly. I only have really noticed my fungii and Pink Silver really showing new growth (and my three African Violets are blooming). Nikki's been more thirsty than ever since repotting/top-dressing her. Even lacunosa cuttings I got last fall haven't grown an inch. There's more snow coming this weekend as well (up to an inch). C'mon Mother Nature, stop being so undecisive lately.

Mine are growing like crazy, all but australis "lizard isle" have put on some new growth this season. Ahahahaha aurorwa. My H.pubicalyxes are trying to strangle eachother, and my KQ keeps wrapping itself up in the lacey little curtain I have above it.

OMG, I can't take it any more. ARE THEY OPEN YET???

Hahahaha, welcome to my world!! You think you are impatient? I have been watching this thing blast tiny clusters of buds since JUNE. Mircale grow bloom busters is my new best friend.

Alas, still not open. The buds are a bit bigger today. Soon, I hope. There is another umbel of buds may a week behind this one, and a dozen itty bitty ones in the works. If I am lucky I may be in for quite the show!
