I'm surprised, because my Gigi seems to want more water than my other miniatures. It likes sun. My friend had hers in a filtered sun spot and when she moved it to a sunnier spot it did much better. It may need a more protected spot when summer arrives. These florist minis will get tougher as they mature.

All the ones I got from Walmart that were so neglected seem to be doing so well. These spoiled Trader Joes ones don't realize how good they have it lol :D I'll have to try a few things and see what conditions she prefers. How are all of your roses doing? :)

My roses are doing great. Thanks for asking. This is the third year with some of my roses and I'm watching them leap. Ask me during summer and I will say they are "surviving", but this time of year with cooler temps is wonderful. I have several new ones too that I've never seen bloom before. Can't wait.

I'm so nervous about summer. In south Texas the summer heat kills so many people's plants. There was light rain and drizzle all day yesterday. So I figured that was enough water. It got to almost 90 today. Came home and my catnip looked horrible. Gave it a good soaking and it perked up.
Everything else is doing well though. A bunch of buds on all my roses. I'm so excited to see them bloom. I can't wait till Mother's Day to get some more minis lol :D done rambling :D

The roses I have lost have always been during summer. I try to plan for fall planting of roses, so they have a chance to mature before entering the triple digit heat of summer. Last summer, I had to put a shade cloth over my St. Patrick rose. It looked rather ominous and gave my daughter a start. I eventually moved it to a better location. What is the temperature in south Texas during the hottest parts of summer?

A little over 100 degrees. But it'll be like that for weeks at a time. We don't get much rain during the summer either. We're under drought restrictions all the time. When it finally does rain hard it floods cause the ground is so dry.
