I repot my trees when ever I feel they require it. The time of year does not usually factor into it. For where I reside, the majority of time would be in the Spring or Summer.

It is more how the tree is treated or look after once it is repotted. Depending on the time of year and where you reside (climate) which will dictate when is the optimum time of year.

This is all based on the ideal conditions in which a tree/plant is in.

Are you trying for a bonsai plant? If you are pruning to keep a short plant I have seen many a tree left in the 1 gal. Looks like you trimmed some of the back plants. Nice branching on the front plant. Have you raised the roots. I like to expose more of the caudex for that narley look.

Yes would like to bonsai some. And leave some to grow out.
