I am thrilled beyond words.

HF Young - a WalMart boxed one last spring. Open Mar.27.

Bee's Jubilee - a Home Deport can. Opened Mar. 28th.

Elsa Spaeth - poor thing has nearly died in its can several times the past few years. This bloom fades immensely but it is this dark upon opening. April 1st.

Beautiful! My Elsa is having a late start this year. We had a very mild winter, then a hard freeze in March, so all of my 20+ clems are a little late this year. I have lots of buds on my Ramona, Omoshiro, Guernsey Cream and Niobe! I watch them daily for that first bloom! Hopefully this week it is supposed to warm up quite a bit.

I understand the excitement of those first blooms. It will be May (or late this month with the seemingly early spring we are having) before my earliest ones bloom. Elsa Spath is one of my favorite large blossom clematis with a long bloom time. H.F. Young is always a good performer. My Bee's Jubilee has never done well. Think I will move it this spring. Thanks for sharing.

Lucky you to have such beautiful blooms so early! We just got a big dumping of snow on the weekend here in Ontario. I was excited to see the beginning of buds on my clematis - I hope they survive this.
