I use a systemic insecticide once in May and then later to 1 month before storage and relocation bulbs in the house. Sprayed all the plants (leaves) widely, and finally sprinkle the plants with this solution. Plants do not mind and grow well. . The treatment is necessary in the period when flies fly - flies duration may be different. Here in Central Europe has narcissus fly sometimes three generations per year. It's pretty annoying.

Bayer makes a 3-in-1 drench that includes fertilizer. There was a bid discussion here. Search for "drench".

I wish it wasn't a Bayer product--that's one of the major producers/marketers of chemicals that are killing a lot of pollinators. I might have to go with a less powerful brand X.

I have the same problem of NBF, but I have never seen an adult insect, they are difficult to observe?

I dare not use systemic insecticide because of the bees, I was wondering if using a paraffin oil could not help smother eggs .... but it is not retentive.

Is there any information about whether neem oil or another natural solution (tea tree oil?) may repel them and keep them at bay? Obviously, that solution would require more intensive intervals of treatment, rather than a drench or two and being done.

I never see it in the garden that surprises me, I search in daffodils,in lilies , I've never seen. Yet it is there!

I wonder how do the producers of daffodils? / Collectors or narcissus.
