It likes high humidity, HATES wet feet, and absolutely LOVES light. I let mine dry out almost completely between waterings, keep it in my bathroom by the window (Southwest facing), and in the late spring, I harden it off to go outside, where it gets almost full sun exposure. I mist it several times a day when itis outside.Then I "reverse harden" it to go back inside for the cold months.

Glad you posted this, been wondering myself. It has been stop and go for me with the cutting of this I got last summer, spent most of the winter under a grow light. Think I know where it needs to live now, thanks all.

Aurorawa, how do you manage your misting schedule? I would like to try growing some of my inside plants outside this summer, but work a later shift. Worried about high summer temps, and deer. Do deer ever get into your plants? I remember the Great Raccoon Incident, but here those wretched deer are the bane of my garden.

If I take a cutting of Curtisii can it be rooted in coir liner and misted every day?

I have not tried coir, I rooted mine in a damp pot of miracle grow perlite, inside of a bag in indirect light.

I killed a cutting of curtisii. It rotted before rooting. If I had a big plant like yours, I would just stick a stem in a little pot right next to the mother plant without cutting, and cut it off after it has good roots. I feel like layering is easier on the plant...

Good point themockturtle. I've never done it that way before but it seems like the stem should root faster as its still getting nutrients and all it needs from the mother plant. Thanks.
