Small riding mower?

I'm thinking of purchasing a riding mower. Unfortunately, at one point, I have a total of 40 inches along the side of the house, from which I must pass through. I've looked at two models of a Troy-Bilt mower; #TB30R. One has a Briggs and Statton 10.5 HP and the other has a Troy-Bilt 420cc engine. I've had a little experience with B & S Craftsman(Sears) self-propelled mower, and a Troy-Bilt weed wacker. The mower is still going strong, but the wacker is gone and buried. The B & S TB30R seems to have good reviews. Little is said about the Troy-Bilt 420cc. Is this a good mower or should I think of other brands and manufacturers?
