Nursery decor

My daughter has asked me to help decorate her nursery. She is considering a "camping" theme, which is so totally outside my area, I have few ideas to offer. It is for a baby boy. Any ideas? (No grey or black, please!) I can sew and paint about anything, let your imaginations soar. TIA!

A nursery, huh? How old is this baby? Is it worth investing in at this point? Maybe wait 'til the baby is a bit older?

Having said that, a mural like the one in TR's post would be great.

This is cute, Camp whatever his name is:

Well all an infant cares about is a bed and food and a dry diaper....and "camping" to a yearold kid and to a 6 year old are very different things.
But that said...I think a Yogi bear theme would be cute, Jellystone park all the way. New baby Bassinet could be painted to look like a picnic basket with red and white checked sheets and receiving blankets. Of course there is a mural on the wall with other bears and perhaps a few large stuffed ones emerging from the forest, and perhaps another wall of a painted log cabin, a rocking Adirondack chair, and a changing table that looks like a tall picnic table or perhaps the back end of a chuck wagon..
The bassinet can change into a khaki tent and later into a tented single bed. A later addition of a rocking horse would be nice.
Of course the carpet for the first 2 years is grass green indoor outdoor carpet....or pebbled sheet vinyl with some green grass area rugs.

Many sweet ideas on pinterest if you look up 'camping nursery'. I love the mural Let's Sleep Under The Stars.

Take a look on line a "DIY tree mural nursery" there are lots of very easy to paint tree murals on line that would be fun for a back drop for the nursery.

Just make sure that none of the canopy/tent is within easy reach.

Glow in the dark stars on the ceiling as if you are out under them like when camping!! There are a lot of cute ideas found. When I first read the request a few hours ago I got STUCK..so much of camping is just not baby friendly. As far as what does a baby need or care about...well it is NEVER too soon to begin saturating a baby with language and that means experiences and things to look at and feel....instilling a love for the outdoors is a wonderful gift for new baby!!!

Newborn: black and white pattern, like large polka dot. Their eyes widen when you put it in front of them

And get these baby sleeping bags. I brought them over from Europe, but have seen them very inexpensively on h&m

Seems like they are available allover now.

Look at Etsy for cute prints (I'm thinking foxes, bears, tents, mountains, etc). Get a series and put them in Ikea or Target mats frames. I found cute, but not too "baby", prints for both my daughters' nurseries (one dahlia flower theme and one bird theme). I also really liked that I could customize the colors for most of the prints.
