I think I have the answer to my question. These pictures don't bode well, do they?

Thankfully I have several Endless Summers that have done well in the past and I have one Limelight PG ( and I am trying to add some Phantom PGs). So, I'll get something but I was so looking forward to finally seeing my NB in full bloom. Oh well.

This is mine...I was so excited to hopefully get blooms this year - it didn't bloom last year thanks to being decimated by deer who ate all the foliage and buds the year prior. Same as you, I had no idea it would get so cold overnight so when I saw it today I was heartbroken. I'm guessing it can't recover from this, can it?

I don't think so but I am really hoping someone will come along correct me. I see myself living vicariously through others pictures.

If they are once bloomers, they won't bloom this year, but I would expect that they will either send up new stems or re-leaf the ones there. It may take a while though, since the buds they set last year are all dead with the possible exception of the ones near the ground, so they will need to reform buds or regrow from the roots.

These are the once bloomers I am worried about. The ES won't be as nice since the first blooms were always the best but I will get some at least. These already had flowers starting -they looked like little broccoli heads. When I looked at them they were very dark, not brown or black, but they didn't look good for sure. :(

I hope they were hiding some close to the ground.
