Rob, there is someone in Florida that I know and she uses this Kangaroots and a product called Liquinox all the time. Especially on bare root trees and transplanting.

I would not use those Peat pellets (Jiffy). Would not be a good choice for Adeniums for the a number of factors, Peat, poor drainage even for seedlings, not deep enough and if used roots would growth through sides and stress on seedlings trying to remove.

I had just noticed on Amazon that Jiffy actually sell's different sized pellets. The smallest ones that you are familiar with, and numerous others all the way up to 50mm. When expanded they are 3 1/2 inch's tall. (Just a thought, I've been Brainstorming.) I want to know how to grow these things; inside & out.:-)

I think it was you Rick that warned me against planting in large cells; because if you don't have 85% - 100% germination, then you've got a lot of wasted space.

I also use the Dyna-Gro products, but was wondering if I can use KangaRoots in conjunction w/ FP & PT. As a fungicide I bought some Sulfur, and from here on out will be adding some to the water when I soak my seeds.

Now that I'm concentrating on Adeniums, for me, it's mostly about the roots. Jericson uses Azos & Mykos (which I want to try also). I was thinking though. Regardless which of this type of product I use, I don't think it would be very effective in a mix with a very low percentage of organic material (such as the "Gritty Mix"). I'm certainly no expert.

I went on a mission today; with a rather long list of different ferts and growing media that I've found people using on this forum, and a bunch of stuff suggested on professional sites. There's a lot of info on this site, a lot of pages, and other links. I'm not sure if everything (especially fert numbers) has translated correctly to English.

i believe you are right about the use of the Mykos and similar products in the Griity mix. Not sure if these could live in and feed in the mix. I know with the Mycorrhizae, that there are different formulations of this and not all will work with the roots of different plants. So, I would think that this would have to be checked into.

The friend in Florida uses the Kangaroots all the time and has tremendous plants.

I think it would be easy to do too much and all these additives are duplicated somewhat.

I like communal pots for my seedling being started, then they can go into their own pots once large enough. Saves space and plants do enjoy company, just an old adage my friend used to say.

By the way, your graft is looking marvelous. Kudos to you.

I leave the plastic on for about 11 days and then carefully remove it.

I had the chance at the hydro store yesterday to pick up a bag of Azos; and read everything on it, but failed to do so. My point,- Is Azos and Azomite the same thing? And while it's on my mind, what about Humic Acid?

I don't intend to use all of these things together. I'm just trying to find the best possible combination(s), initially focusing on bulking up the roots/caudex.

Al and I think Tracy told me that the two Dyna Gro products is basically all I need. I know it takes a teaspoon to gallon of water. So that is easy. Tek- 0-0-3 Silicon Supplement usage is the same amount but need pre-wet. I guess I like easy. I seem to collect so many things for my plants I am trying to down size to just a couple of products.

The Humic Acid I use on my Epi's. Have not read about it being used much here.

my experiment with the Gritty mix. Is on my two new Obesum's. I put one in the basic Gritty mix and one in an adjusted version. Instead of turface the one has kitty litter (non clumping) I got it at HD. I got chick grit and I used. Growstone which someone had on hand. I got the pine bark mini at HD but it is not carried at all stores. Time will tell which works best for my area.

Marica - I don't have time right now to expand on this but, do you know what Humic Acid does?

I have all of the materials to make Gritty Mix, and use it for all my Bonsai. Although I'd like to switch out the Pine bark for Fir.

I've been keeping an eye on the techniques that people (professional & not) are using; that appear to produce a fat base in a considerably short period of time. Adenium's seem to have a somewhat unique set of growth habits along with it's other family members.
