A little small for Madame Butterfly. They usually are closer to eight inches The shape does look like a papilio influence.

Now that's the kind of mislabel we'd all like!! It's gorgeous!! Perhaps some more pictures front and side view after it's had a chance to fully open might help someone recognize it. Is it red or is it dark pink? I just love it, where did you buy it from?

I think that would be a tie for the mislabel award with my original Tinkerbell!!

Thanks everyone! It has opened wider and I will take more pictures today. Donna the colors are similar to 'Tosca' but not as purple - more red like 'Revelation'. I have Tosca blooming so will try to get some side by side. What should I pollinate it with? Giraffe, Exotic Star for more 'Papilio" influence? Sumatra should be blooming soon - or just enjoy it :) - J

The variance in the colors reminds me just a bit of Gervase (one of my all time favorites!).

If you have papilio pollen I would definitely try at least one flower. More papilio influence is always good...

Very nice! I was thinking of Purple Rain but with a lot more color. Exotic Star sounds like a good partner and a Cybister like Sumatra is always a nice try. I would also try to self it and certainly enjoy it...

Can't wait to see the pictures with Tosca!

I was just looking at your noid again and you don't suppose it could possibly be Hercules do you? I know it is different and yours has more white in it but I've been trying to put a name to your lovely noid and this is all I could come up with.
