So pretty! I didn't get SDBs for several years, the blooms look great but just so small that they don't seem all that. Then my one SDB clumped up & I was impressed. I don't have a big collection, & only a couple of them in a clump, but I'm liking them more all the time. Early bloom helps too. Yours are so nice, I especially like Outspoken & Private 1st class.

I dig and plant in July or August, but should plant about 6 weeks before first frost so the roots can establish. These all started from one start (with two fans). They are 2 and 3 year old clumps. They love super phosphate (work in the soil well) and bone meal. Any well draining garden soil works.

So lovely! I love SDBs.... they could even be my favourite! I have several but only Cherry Gardens has had enough time to form a clump. You have some real beauties there!

How often do you find you have to divide the clumps?

I reset the beds after 3-4 years and steal off them and pot them for the Farmer's Market. They are very popular in the spring as they work well in deck planters, rock gardens and small places.

What is the best web site to purchase them? I would,love to get started with these little gems.
