You were right....1925 to perhaps 1940.....maybe not that late as 1940.

That's quite a mashup of features ... large bulbous thing on legs is late 1920s, the geometric groove around the drawers is a 1930s ...and the chevron veneering showed up with art deco.

I'd give it early 1930s

I picked up the chest today and unfortunately it doesn't match .i got it anyways and it cleaned up nicely .its missing a pull so im going to look for one .any idea the time period on this chest ?

Pretty much the same. May not "match" but they sure go together.

I've been doing some reading on how to refinish veneer .if I stained it a bit darker it would be a pretty close match besides the obvious differences .you wouldn't have believed the shape it was in but after I got it all cleaned up I was pleased.what is the best product to clean /maintain antique wood ?

Paste wax.....after you have cleaned it with a cleaner containing petroleum distillates

They will work well together! Did you notice that the higher chest does not have the original hardware? Instead of looking for the missing handle, you could look for the right hardware to fit the impressions on the doors. Is that inlaid wood in the vase with flower design? Nice! It may be possible to color the chipped veneer a little darker with a furniture magic-marker-like found at big box stores by the varnish, etc.

I use plain mineral spirits to clean old wax off of stuff....and then wax with a carnauba wax....forget the brand....and the can is deep under the sink!

Not sure why it's so blurry but it's Klean Strip brand from Home Depot

I am warty of anything with the word "strip" in it....test first on a hidden spot....but it looks OK....but do it in the garage ....your birds won't do well with fumes from that!

Klean Strip is just the smelly chemical brand HD carries--not all are strippers. :) Pretty sure that's the type of mineral spirits Linda is talking about.

For sure keep it away from the birds!

If you're looking for pulls, Muff's Hardware in Orange, CA has a lot of vintage ones. They are online now. You might get lucky.

Mineral spirits will remove wax and oily dirt...like fingerprints. But it won't touch things like milk or sugar stains....so if you have some spots left after cleaning, use a little water on a cloth.

I used a mineral spirits based cleaner on my floors when my kids were little....andw ere dripping milk and sugary juice etc!....I learned the hard way.
