Blooms this morning before the rain...

Dang... our internet service was out for about 30hrs. I guess AT&T had some issues all over the place. It's sad how much we rely on the web. A lot of businesses couldn't use their credit card machines during the outtage. I'm just glad they finally got whatever was wrong fixed!!

Anyway... Before I went over to take care of my mom today, I ran out and took pictures of the roses before it started raining. Weird weather. So cold again too. Spring definitely isn't coming early around here. Well, the roses say so, but the weather says no. And OMG... the B/S is epidemic! As well as the powdery mildew..... and the bugs!!! ick

Oh dear. Now I have to go look up a few of these. Love them. I really need to stop but you make it hard when you post pics like Tantarra and Matilda and Irish Cream. Sooooo stinkin pretty!!

Beautiful! Love that mini rose Samantha Ruth. You have so many roses that I've never even heard of much less seen.

I just recently planted Blue For You that I got from Chamblee. Just noticed a bud today so I'm looking forward to seeing what the color turns out to be and if there's any fragrance. Thanks for sharing yours!

Ann, BLUE FOR YOU is a gorgeous rose. It really has a very BLUE-lavender tint to it. It starts out a little more on the orchid-y purpley side, but as it ages, it turns more of a smoky periwinkle color, with lots more blue in it. I love the white reverse and the white streaks it gets too. I don't remember if it has a scent or not. I just got mine put in the ground this fall, and it's already happier than it was in the pot in part shade...and it was very happy there!

Helen...I have about as many own-root roses as grafted ones. I believe BFY is own root. And most of those pots you see are 16". Some of the roses have been in their pots for quite a few yrs. Once they get in the ground they often take off like weeds. Altho, I did have one that died almost immediately after getting planted in the ground. I guess it went into shock!
