I would think either would be fine for a short time. When they come they will not have a huge root ball to start so they smaller pot may work OK for the first year.

I finally made the decision to purchase six- 10 gal white brute plastic trash cans. Certainly not the most beautiful, but it's white and has handles. Ordered them from homedepot.com. Hopefully the white will keep plastic from getting too hot. Don't want contents to turn to soup in hot weather.
