Help caring for my green giant shrubs! Advice needed

Hello everyone first time posting looking for some help with my green giant shrubs! We are renting and before we moved in about 20 of these bad boys were planted along the road. I have done a little bit of research I know I need to mulch these as well as possibly prune them? But I would like to know as well what kind they are. Can u tell from the leaves? Also is there any natural homemade pesticide I can use? Any and all recommendations except the hateful ones are welcome! Also does my orange guy have any chance of survival? Can you propagate these? These guys receive a lot of sun as well 8+ hrs. We are in 7b plant zone if that helps. Also milk carton for size comparison.

Amber, don't worry at all about pruning these things for a while. Better to let them be for now. Later, if they need any attention at all, it will be to attempt to have them maintain a single leader, and then to remove any broken branch that may happen. Other than that, good to go just as they are....or will be, I should say.

Just get the grass away from the base of the plants, mulch and water as needed. As mentioned, they don't need pruning, they don't need fertilizing and they don't need a pesticide (??? - not sure why that was requested). All they need is some time and some basic TLC.

And yes, the orange/brown one is toast :-)
