Plumeria Moving Day (Really Moving)

Over the Easter Weekend I moved all but a dozen plants and some newly rooted cuttings to a temporary location at a friend's house in the TX hill country about 20 miles outside of San Antonio.

Loaded, strapped and ready for the trip. I also filled up the back of our Chev Tahoe with the shorter containers which my wife drove behind me ensuring that someone had eyes on the trailer.

Since they had no leaves there was very little wind resistance and I was able to take surface streets and country roads most of the way keeping speeds under 45mph. I lost one seed pod and a 3 tip branch during loading and I am pretty sure I saw in my rear view mirror one copper plant tag blow off. Haven't figured out which one is missing the tag yet. All in all a successful trip after about 90 minutes of neurotic strapping, bracing, and cinching of the load.

in three months time they will be moved to a new permanent home. My backyard sure is lonely now.
