Need help with kitchen cabinets / spacing

My husband and I are in the process of building a house from a set floor plan decided upon by the builder. We were actually able to make certain changes based on our preferences (floors, tile, cabinet color, granite, etc.). One of the changes we decided to make was to knock out a half wall / bar area and include a kitchen island instead. However, I'm concerned that it's going to look a little strange.

The builder sent us pictures yesterday and my concern is starting to grow. Here's my issue: I'm scared that the island is too far into the common space and out of the kitchen. As there's no way to move it, we're kind of stuck. I'm specifically referring to where the cabinets end and all of the blank wall space. Unfortunately, it's too late to add more cabinets to the wall where the cabinets currently stop because granite has already been fitted / ordered for the cabinets in place.

So, what do we do? I considered adding cabinets once they're finished building, but the counter tops won't match. I also considered maybe putting butcher block as the counter top to the new cabinets... but I feel like that might not mesh well with the grey granite we're having put in. My husband suggested we place a curio cabinet in the space, but I'm not a huge fan of them.

I've attached pictures of the model home to show the kitchen layout with the half wall / bar area. I've also attached a progress picture of our home with the island in place. Any design suggestions would be SO greatly appreciated- I don't have an eye for this kind of stuff.
