How do I hang a light over my table?

    Is this the light that you have now, or do you want to purchase a new one? You need a fixture that has a canopy that can cover the outlet.

    I don't think I posed the question correctly.... I have a great lamp, I recently had my ceiling repaired and now that I'm rehanging my lamp I'm wondering of there is a more polished way to drape the cord over a foot so the lamp is centred over the table. I used to have a very ugly hook and a zip tie. I looked into moving the electrical when I got my ceiling done but it was going to add time and cost to the unexpected ceiling repair.
