I've never grown these but if you search the botanical name, Cynoglossum amabile, you will find a lot of information. Here's one site with info.

I've grown them and had them come back for a quite a few years from dropped seeds. Unlike most annuals they don't bloom all summer. Only for a month or so in early summer. They do look good in bloom but I'd only use them as a filler before other plants take over.

Yes they are very easy to grow from seed. The flowers while still small are larger than the perennial forget-me-nots.

In my yard they are cute as a button in spring and sort of unsightly after that. I let the volunteers go in spring and pull them out as they mildew for me here in zone 8. They have reliably come up year after year.
