Tiny baby worms of course. Some may be clear (No color) but a mini version of mom & dad.

Lots of other things in the bin can be white and worm-like, though, some good, some neutral, some bad. A picture would help.

Here are a couple things that are not baby worms but are white and worm-shaped and often mistaken for them:

potworms
young fungus gnat larvae

could also be young maggots of other kinds

Definitely not white , they are threadlike in size but all the ones Ive seen are more of pinkish reddish color.

The really tiny ones can be so transparent that it's hard to detect a color. But they pink up pretty quickly, in my experience.

EDITED TO ADD: And by really tiny, I mean ones that are so newly hatched that you probably would not be able to see them easily in soil/compost. I just happen to come across them sometimes in the netting I use to help keep out flying critters. Even then, they're barely noticeable--I have to be looking for them.

thank you everyone...it is definitely pot worms I am experiencing. After 3 weeks they are still thread like and white. thanks for the info. and photos.

How long are pot worms normally? I have a bin with very small white worms less than a half inch long and very thin (pencil line thin). In fact I didn't even realize I had them until I was watching a video I recorded of the bin they are so small.

"Potworm" is a general term for a kind of worm, not a specific species. The Grindal worm is a common one that is cultivated for feeding to aquarium fish and gets about a half inch long.

All my baby worms look like worms by the time they are big enough to be noticed, the 'jumpers' are thin and pale pink, translucent and usually as long as my pinkie fingernail, and the others are fatter around and usually already tending toward dark red/purplish, but may be shorter or longer than jumpers depending on food available and the temperature of the bin.
