Basement flooring has me stumped

Had to unexpectedly remodel the basement after a water issue. Got that fixed but now I'm suddenly faced with a whole lot of material choices that have to be made quickly. We are going to out a kitchenette (first pic, where you see the pink siding) and a pool table in the main room (next two pics) and I'm going door a real pub feel. We'll be using a brick to accent the wall (pic with the studs below a pony wall and a window above). We will have sliding barn doors going into the media room (to the left of 3rd pic). We need carpet in the media room for acoustics (husband is a media geek, so no exceptions on that one). I'd like to put hardwood/laminate in the pool table area. But we also have the stairs, a bedroom, hall with built ins and full bath that I would prefer to carpet. See first pic, to the right. I'm worried about a patchwork feel. Contractor suggests hard floor to the wall with carpet in the bedroom on the left and carpet down the stairs to the opening on the right. Happy to hear opinions/suggestions.
