I don't think I like the look of that black. Is that where it feels limp/mushy? Is it better up closer to the roots/soil line? Did the box sit in the sun on a warm day? There's nothing (not even cold) that's as hard on a plant than baking in a hot box for a few hours. I used to have a mailman who was careful to put a box in the shade on my south-facing porch because he knew I got a lot of plants in the mail. Well, now we're on a training route so we get different mailmen on different days, so now if it's going to be hot and no one is going to be home until later, I call the P.O. and ask them to hold the box for pickup. And sometimes I do this either way, because it's not just it sitting in the sun waiting for you to pick it up, but some of these mailmen wait until the end of the day to deliver packages, so now it's sitting in a hot vehicle in a hot box all day. Double trouble! I've had far more plants hurt by the heat than the cold!

Thanks Denise. It may have been in a hot mail truck for a while but I don't think we hit 70 degrees. This is the first time I received plants wrapped in bubble wrap. The poor things couldn't breath yet alone being soaking wet.

Should I cut off the yucky leaves? I will treat it with Heritage a great fungicide and keep my fingers crossed.

I would. If they're limp, I don't think they're going to make it, so might as well not make the plant work to keep them. What's Heritage, BTW?

Heritage is an awesome fungicide. It's made by Syngenta. There are third party sellers on Amazon. My husband got it from someone at work.
