Spring Colors!

Here is a look at some of my spring roses. Last year was a bust due to lack of water. This time around, I have never seen such big blooms and so many. I don't know how much water we will be allowed for the summer so I am taking pictures while I can. New camera, no more auto mode for me.

OMG, Kathy, that Summer Fashion is gorgeous! I have a love/hate relationship with this rose. I fell head over heels for it in a picture I saw and searched 3 years to find it. When I got it I was totally disappointed because that dang thing wouldn't grow or bloom, :( !

Oh My!!! What wonderful shots. What is the new camera?

'Lynn Anderson' I could reach out and pick her up. And 'French Lace' makes me glad I didn't put my sorry picture up. Gorgeous, gorgeous!

    Thanks for all the comments!

Steve, look at it this way. When you start to have blooms, I will have deadheaded all my spring roses and our temps will be frying all the new roses! I wish I could follow spring north--it is my fantasy dream vacation.

Seil, I have rooted Summer Fashions but it is a hard rose to keep going. I have one in a pot now and am hoping it succeeds. My original bush is fine but stays pretty small. It is my very first rose I got many years ago.

Iris, it is a Nikon D3300. Supposedly a beginner camera. I took a couple of photography classes but really, you need to keep experimenting--that is the only way to learn. Up until now, I only used the auto settings, which are fine in most cases. But I really wanted to learn how to use my camera for bird photos. Not nearly as easy as roses, that just sit there looking pretty.

Thank you Kathy. Between your & Beth's new cameras with jaw-dropping pictures I'm getting the itch. I tried a friend's Canon DSLR and needed a semester long course!

Moving targets?! Help. I couldn't capture a Calif. towee and they're slow.
