Hi,

I am mosaicing a ring to adhere to my firepit table made of all glass tess. I started to mount it on sticky mesh, but got nervous that it wasn't sticking as much as I'd like. I had the brainstorm that I can use mosaic tape on the top of each finished quarter. I plan to remove the mesh and press the glass (that is held together with tape) directly into the thinset (scraped with a "v" trowel).

I think this should work, but I am nervous that the thinset will seep up into the joints and I won't be able to grout there.

Any suggestions?
