Ah seeds. That is true but I always raise an eyebrow when sellers grab and use photos not belonging to them. It seems that Cactusplaza do use photos from other sites. For instance, check the site of Uhlig Kakteen: http://www.uhlig-kakteen.de/shopping/product_details.php?product_id=7131

Uhlig Kakteen is a renowned cactus and succulent seller in Germany and they have used this paticular photo for at least 10 years. I trust them. And the adenium in the photo is more likely an obesum hybrid. Multiflorum has large broad leaves, probably one of the largest in the whole genus.

I don't know Cactusplaza but I fear that they don't know s... about the genus Adenium and the reliability of their own seed sources. But I could be wrong.

Stuart, unfortunately yes. I think that you might have some sort of obesum hybrid or a somalense. The lanceolate leaves with white veins are normally a somalense trait.

Jedoba. DoN't feel sorry. The somalense or whatever wil become a lovely plant. Here are better pics. You can see that they cut of a trunk/stem from the caudex. I wil post the crispum in my crispum trhread.

I hope you have contacted the seller. I just got a tree today that had rot on the branch tips.

Rick or Martin. Is the plant a true socotranum?

Stuart, I am sorry but I doubt that this is an Adenium socotranum. Actually I am pretty sure it is not. The leaf colour of the species is dark green with a prominent white or reddish midrib. And your seedling simply grows way too fast. Adenium socotranum grows quite slowly.

Btw, I have never seen socotranum seeds for sale...

Martin. This is the same (fake) multiflorum plant from cactusplaza. The growing process has stop due to wet soil and a bit root rot. i will repot it into gritty mix after drying a few days. The original soil was almost 90% zand. My brother got a arabicum (on the right) also from cactusplaza and look what they did to it (pruned).

Stuart, How frustrating. We are all trying things with our trees. My TT finally firmed back up. I was using to little water. See a lot of people are having rot with the odd weather we all have been having. I would love a normal season.
