Thank you for letting me know the picture didn't post.i need some advice on this birch tree in my landscaping. It cracked from a high wind, appears healthy, needs trimming by a professional or just needs to go. All the dead and overgrown bushes have been ripped out. Should I say good bye to this 30 foot birch? Any advice would be appreciated. Also, is there a better solution for enhancing my house shape in that part of the landscaping? Is it covering the pretty window and needs to be replaced with something a little left of the window?

Hire an arborist to help the tree look its best, but definitely keep it. A mature tree like that adds value to your home as well as ecosystem value.

I agree with Tai that you should hire a pro to see how healthy the tree is. If it's ok, then leave it as it's not an eyesore and it's not too close to the house to totally block that window. But yes, if it needs to come down, then plant something small off to the right. Maybe a blooming bush as you could use more color in your landscape.

Tia and Diane, that's what we did. An arborist came out, we removed shrubs underneath and it appears to be doing well so far.
