Trim color

Could you tell me the color that you painted the trim. I love Old Prairie and painted my Massage Therapy Studio in it. I coupled it with Camouflage for the trim, and it looked beautiful. But for my home.. I wanted to keep a more coastal look, so I don't think a darker trim will work. Did you also do the trim in the same color? thank you!

    Hi Leeanne,

I think the trim color is also Old Prarie by Benjamin Moore! I will double check that and get back to you!

Thank you Corynne! So, would you suggest for a coastal look, no matter what white I use, I should keep walls, ceiling and trim the same white, but different finishes? Do you use flat or matte on the wall, and would you suggest, impervo or latex semi gloss for trim? Thank you so much for your help. Are you one of the designers on this particular project?

    Hi Leeanne!

I hope you are enjoying repainting or remodeling your space into a coastal look! There is a great article about coastal design, that I think could help or showcase better coastal painting ideas...

I am not one of the designers, just the writer and photographer :) At the top of the article you can click on the Martin's architectural designer, Marie Palumbo.

    Hope this helps!

thank you SO much Corynne.. you've been such a great help! I'm so undecided as to the color white I should use. I love the look of the room that you posted,, just not sure what "white" it is. I do love the Old Prairie, but think I want lighter then that for my home. I'm very excited,,the painter will begin next week.. well, actually the prepping will begin.. SHE..yes, SHE!! very excited about that!!! She said that since there is SO much trim,, all authentic, but then my husband replicated it because we added french doors, and on some doorways there wasn't any moulding.. I guess it had been removed years ago, but anyway,, she explained that she can really do the job however I would like her too. She said that when it's a big job like mine, sometimes to the homeowner, it feels as though it's never getting done. So she said that if I would like,, she could do one room at a time, prep, prime, and paint.. so that I see progress. I think we will probably do it that way. She said this way, I'm also not feeling like she's taking over my whole home...I really like that Idea. She's very talented, and is coming up with some great ideas, we both have similiar tastes. I have old steam radiators and steam pipes running up the walls in each room and I love them.. they make the house what it is! My pendant lighting over my butcher block island is rubbed bronze, so she said instead of just painting the pipes black we could paint them a rubbed bronzy look... I love that idea! I'll try to post some pix

    Hi Leeanne H.,

It sounds like your home is really coming together! Congrats! Houzz has some great articles about white room color choices and trim ideas - if you flip through the ideabooks or search using more specific keywords, i'm sure you'll find more ideas and photos!

What would be the SW or Valspar equivalent for BM Old Prairie?

Can you please share who the artist is of both paintings? The painting behind the bed and the painting on the side wall? Please. Love both.
