Yes:You did not get the plant used with outside sunlight.

You need to place plant in shade first,for a week,in part shade another week and ,after that in full sun!

will leaves drop and then regrow or should I bring it back in?

They probably won't drop, I'd just leave it in the shade for a while should be fine

Hi Carmine, I use the Joe Morle method that I've heard some others talk about on this forum. Btw he sells Italian fig trees in Massachusetts. His fertilizer consists of 1 part each: super phosphate 0-20-0, 1part 5-10-5, bone meal and garden lime. Mix thoroughly, make 4 holes in the edge of the pot 1" wide and 3" deep. A 12 in pot requires about a cup. Water thoroughly then a month later begin a liquid feeding of a 20-20-20 using 1 Tbs per gallon of water every 20 days until mid-August. The first feeding is done in the spring. His website is figures.net. Hope this helps :)

thanks for the information Jersey21. I tried that link but it didnt come up as a valid address. Also, Ive read conflicting advice on lime and limestone. Do I use lime or limestone for figs? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I think Im going to try the Miracle Grow all purpose blue mix and see if it helps.

looks like a sicilian white fig to me, are they rasberry colored inside?

as far as fertilizer goes , i like to add some new soil on top of the planter and add oscmote fertilizer for potted plants. i guess you could use the hole drilling method with oscmote. but i would just use 10-10-10 gently and maybe add a little fast acting or hydrated lime for calcium or even bone meal mixed in the hole i doubt if the bone meal will wash out you really can't go wrong with miracle grow. i imagine the tomato growing formula would work out well.

Yep, raspberry colored inside. I fed them with a little miracle grow, and raked in a little bone meal and granulated lime into the top soil.

ok, so since my las t photos the leaves have really yellowed out, they have rust colored spots on them and theres been ZERO new growth. Should I cut off the damaged leaves to try and inspire new growth? Is it normal for a fig tree that was started inside too early to be stunted this badly? I promised two of these three figs to friends and I cannot in good conscience give them these trees as they will surely die without some type of care....any help appreciated. Grazie

Hey carmine I'm in the same boat as you as my fig plant looks like crap. I put lightly MG tomato, fruit, & vegetable with calcium fertilizer in granule form to see what happens I'll find out soon. I will say it is hot as hell here in south florida so I don't know maybe to much heat?!

I actually pinched the end of one of the branches and within a few days I had new leaf growth and as of yesterday I say my first figlet! I put down a mixture of phosphate, garden lime, 5-10-5 fertilizer and bone meal.

I think it's because they've had a taste of freedom but are still imprisoned in pots :(

in NY unfortunately with our winters the pots/containers are the way to go
