The house looks good, but I really hate looking that empty look of your front yard. Hmm, let me give my own piece of advice here.

I would love to see an outdoor place in your front view so that it won't look dumb and empty. A deck will do, or just have a set of tables and chairs outside where you can stay with your family. If you are done with the deck, you can add more landscape around. This will make the view better. I am sure this is will help you improve your place. Adding an outdoor lightning will complete your front look. Torches will do or just some simple lamp which you can put in a corner.

Additional tips is, you can add some patio heater in your deck too, or a fire pit so that you can still stay in it even during cold nights. I have seen it with one of my friends' home. She has a fire pit which she got from http://www.buytikitorches.com and she said that it is really useful. Aside from the warmth that it can give, they also use it for outdoor activities like grill barbecue.

I would beef up the molding around the front door, paint it white and then paint the door a color. A nd perhaps you can do some hedgework in front of each window, such as a knotgarden, with some nice vertical softscape on the sides of the windows.

If you do a knot garden you can put a little pilaster in the center of the knot on each side with a concrete ball, or doves, or a finial

I think you need to consider how you use the space, is just an area you cross to enter the house? Would you use it as a social area as the post above suggests? Do you want something that requires low maintenance? What strikes me is that I can't see an actual path or walkway to your front door, it looks like you have to walk across the grass. This might be a starting point. From there you could have planting areas around the walk way providing colour and scent to welcome your guests. There are some fantastic front gardens on here but it really depends on how you intend to use the space.

THANKS for all the comments, this is a house im considering buying. i dont think of my front as a gathering area, i know i need a walkway, and to fix up the garden. not sure about those windows. like the door ideas as well.
