Sans are usually faster than you think, they go in stages of above ground and below ground growth. While you may think it's not growing there may be a lot going on in the soil you aren't seeing. I will say, Cylindrica is one of the fastest Sans I've had though.

Yup, looks good chuckerfly, it likes the conditions where it is. Your location of 'tropics, beyond zone 11' is ideal as long as you can control the amount of rain it gets. Sans love heat. Your mix looks 'peaty', so too much water could be a problem if you have a heavy rain season.

If you've had this sans for a number of years, obviously you've figured out any water issues.

I don't control anything, actually it's been growing mostly neglected. See the soil and the weed? :p

It's been in that pot forever, and since it's perched on a pot stand outside (not directly touching ground), it's not collecting water on the bottom although the soil IS water retentive, it's regular dirt/garden soil.

The leaf directly on the right is also new, came up earlier this year. I can't recall when we got it, but I remember it always only had 3 leaves. I guess it finally has given up on us to provide better soil, address water issues etc. and is quite content to continue growing (survival mode, more likely) haha.. =)
