Is there any way to move your main entrance? It's a little strange that you have to walk through the kitchen to access the property. I'm just curious, is your home not in the US?

If you post a floor plan we can see if the peninsula could someday be turned into an island which could open up the possibility of the stove moving to the right with a hood. Refrigerator could go to the right of the stove in this scenario. Current refrigerator/ microwave wall could be all storage. A floor plan is the next step.

HI Steph, thank you for your input. The second pic shows the view from the front door, thats the back door leading off the kitchen. Im in South Africa so been googling the meaning of certain words such as "range" and "peninsula"!

As soon as I lay my hands on the plans I will post it. Thanks to everyone who has given advice, its much appreciated.

Cute little cottage. Is this to be your main residence or a vacation cottage? That might make a difference in the amount of storage you need. BTW, how would you refer to a range or peninsula in South Africa?

If you have other locations for the washer and micro, center the fridge on that wall and flank it with pantries for food and equipment storage.

So cute, what a nice little cottage. Before you invest any money in cabinets for that wall, take time to think about how you might rearrange the kitchen entirely. It is a little tricky to tell from just these photos, but it seems that the peninsula counter is too long, and so even with the washer and microwave out of the way, you cannot add much in the way of a pantry cabinet, without obstructing that passageway.
