Acer shirasawanum aureum seed question

Hi all,

I bought some of this cultivars seed from sheffields.


The instructions say to warm stratify for 120 days. Then cold stratify for 120 days. I have never had to warm stratify japanese maple seeds before. Are shirasawanums different to regular palmatums?
