Welcome to the wonderful world of Hoyas! That is a very nice looking Hoya carnosa 'Krimson Queen', and I would say $25 is a heck of a deal for that size plant.

There is a couple different ways you could approach repotting your new plant depending on how and where you want to grow it. Here's a great link from the amazing Doug Chamberlain, and a couple of his videos that might be helpful. Check them if you can and then report back with your thoughts.

Hello from Omaha, Alkh86! And congrats on an outstanding deal! That one is one of the common Hoyas, but even common Hoyas of that size are never that cheap! It looks so healthy! Unless you feel that there is something wrong with the mix it's in, I would probably just leave it be for awhile. Just keep a close watch on how dry it gets, and water it before it gets too dry. Hoyas like to dry out JUST a bit, but not too much. Two thumbs up to your S.O.!
