Jedoba, I forgot to ask. Have they flowered yet? I'm not great with identification on different Adenium species but these kind of look crispum to me. The flowers would tell for sure.

Nicholas, those are great find. The one with small leaves is rare. That is True Heart, and you also got a variegated which is good.

I have been looking for one with small leaves, but haven't find one yet.

Marie, I'll keep checking around to see if I can find any more like it. My HD and Wal-Mart have racks full of one's this size, a few racks of smaller and some larger. Could be other like this hiding in there.

Nicholas, one of them looks to be about 2-3 days away from opening. The other is just forming very small buds now.

I'll post pictures as soon as they open.

I do agree that these look similar to crispum leaves. Truth be told, the flower color, and the leaves are why I picked them up.

Looking forward to seeing the flowers. I hope they are crispum, they're one of my favorites.

I drove to the post office today, for some stamps, and came back with a plant......sadly, it wasn't an Adenium. That WOULD be unusual!

.....it's a Phlox subulata Purple Beauty, a creeping perennial for my rockery/fishpond area. Have had a pink one for years and never seen any other colour, till I needed a stamp that is.

Very nice finds, Nick! I am a little jealous that you can find such rare plants in your local big box store. Love the blooms on the Swazicum. I have some seedlings going now and I am looking forward to the unique leaves and blooms.

I can only dream. The only adeniums I ever find at HD are $10 pruned guess-what-I-am stumps, some with obvious rot. Definitely not cart-hoppers!

I'm with you on that, LL. I get most of my supplies from actual lumberyards but I'd invent any excuse to go to HD or Lowe's so I can detour on my way to the "hard to find hardware" drawer and check out succulents.

And nothing! Zero! Zilch! Wala! Nada! If not brazenly painted, most of the garbage sold in my area are glued into the pot or to each other in order to inevitably die within two weeks. Some purchasing manager somewhere in these stores think this is what people here want. On the other hand, our winters do suck.

Tracy, sorry I missed checking back on this thread so to answer to your question....yes! Finally the sun is out, we have had temps in the mid to high 20's the past three days, the heat cased thunder storms, but things are on the up.....at the moment :)))))

I was in Lowes today, trying to decide whether the Cart Jumpers were worthy. I decided not worth $12. Nice Caudexes, but skimpy blooms. Maybe if they were reduced in price. I'm cheap today....

I met a lady there telling me how to grow them. Says she has 8 large ones, in pots. All in full bloom. The trick is to never water them....stay away from water. No discussion was allowed on the topic, if you know what I mean.

Well I water mine when they look dry. Sometimes every day in the hot sun. And they are growing nicely . She would die, then yell at me, I am sure. My big one is in full bloom, and the smaller ones are coming into bloom, . They all look happy, and I'm happy.

i counted them, today. I have 75 DRs, from month old seedlings, last year's seedlings, and my bigger trees. All happy.

As you know, I am about to lose my largest adenium. So, if you come across a very large plant with the gnarliest caudex that you do not want for yourself, I'll take it! I only want the stock so I can graft my Rik Ni Ran to it so I do not care what color of flowers it has or is supposed to have. I'll pay for the plant and shipping!

Darn Vet had a staff meeting. Luckily it made me available to shove my cart under these flying jumpers. I had to catch a few others and set them back down. I may hit a liquor store and go back. first has red & dbl purple flowers; second has jagged pointy petals with striped throat

I'd call #1 'red fade to pink' & #2 'pink with red edge'. But as Marie says; what do I know. Martin, is my #2 flower like the one you're after, pointed jagged edged petals?

Wow very nice. Love the jagged one as well. Really want a purple too but even the seeds of those are expensive and they probably won't turn out purple anyways.

Craig, when the time comes, I will trade you a piece of double pink for double purple. I want to graft that. I just need 4-6" when you're ready!

Jed, should be no problem. I got this one early & pretty sure it wasn't in a truck for long. It's in good shape. I found 2 limbs grew out under the graft is why it has 2 flowers

I'm on my way to Lowe's to get lumber. Something better jump into my cart!

Meh. There was nothing. Just a bunch of painted echevariias with glitter (glitters! Cheesus) and some ridiculous arrangements with aloes, haworthias and--get this--orchid in the same pot with glued-on pebbles. I did manage to fit twelve 2x4s in my Yaris though.

There still would've been room for jumpers!

That's a sad story though. If it makes you feel better the Lowe's here is just as bad. They do occasionally have some normal succulents but it's rare and they are usually about dead. I stopped going.

Great news about the 2x4's though. Did a little project myself today with my better half. We spray painted our kitchen table and antiqued it.

Oh oh, new thread, Nick! I want to see that table. If this rain ever stops, I'll post pics of my screening project tomorrow.

since my BBS never have any, the only 'cart jumping' i see is on ebay, shopping ko and rin … man, i got another batch of seeds ...

LOL ... I saw some $3 seeds go for triple that and worse in this past week's KO auctions! Talk about overpaying!! Who the heck is bidding on these auctions without checking the store prices? They are potentially driving seed prices waaaay up. I didn't even overpay by so much before someone graciously directed me to the store. I certainly hope you didn't.

i just be persistent … until i finally win the auction at the price i want to pay … sometimes it takes weeks and weeks … and several auctions ...

Yeah .. I ended up buying $40 in seeds bidding week after week trying to get the ones I wanted. Then someone told me I could (and how to) order directly from KOs store.
