The "lip" on orchids is a modified petal and from time to time you see mutations where the petals take on the shape of the lip. The plant might bloom normally next time, then you will have a $4 bargain.

I doesn't seem that deformed to me, in fact it looks pretty normal. Would you mind telling me which part you think is deformed? Thanks.

I also have no idea what the other two plants are (sorry!).

The answer to your question ....is that a "normal" Phalaenopsis flower has six segments, termed Tepals.

Three Sepals at the rear and

Three petals at the front with one modified in shape to form the "Lip"

Note the form of the lip and the flat undistorted shape of the petals.

I kinda like the way it looks. I've done a bit more research and it seems like the flowers are somewhat peloric. The lip isn't fully formed and the other 2 petals have tried to take on the shape of the lip. I hope it stays this way in the future. Thanks for the info.
