JD Wheels

I have a JD LT155 that I inherited from my father. When I got it about 10 years ago, the front wheels were positioned such that air inflation valves were on the inside of the wheel.

My Indy 500 solution is to use the floor jack to lift the front wheels off the ground so they can be rotated to access the valves.

Is there any reason that my father (or original dealer) put the wheels on backwards (in my opinion)

Is there an reason the can not be turned so the valve is on the outside?

Is there any way to grease these front axels?
