Updating Cabinets to Concealed Hinges

I'm in the process of updating my kitchen and one of the things on my list is to update the cabinet hardware (after reprinting everything of course). I originally just planned to replace the gold plated cabinet/drawer pulls and hinges with a brushed nickel but while taking the hardware off I realized how much better (and more contemporary) the cabinets would look with concealed hinges.

My cabinets are old and made from low quality wood, and many of the doors have minor imperfections - a few are either warped or hang crooked. Redoing the cabinets isn't really an option and I'm wondering if it's worth the trouble (and time and expense) to add concealed hinges if the cabinets themselves are less than perfect.

Thoughts?
