HI -- Your cabinets look older and are a traditional made style with a face frame . To have modern euro hidden hinges the face frame would have to come off and then you would need new doors . The cost of this isn't worth it on such old cabinets . You would need to have new cabinets to have the hidden hinges . It looks like it is time for new . The old cabinets were probably built on site and look like they are not consistent sizes which was common for the 50's and 60's . It also looks like you do not have the proper space between counter and upper cabinet -- it should be 18 inches.

Thank you! The kitchen definitely needs an update but a brand new kitchen is definitely not in the budget right now. The cabinets don't look like they were made professionally and I certainly don't want to invest too much in a short-term fix. I'll have to stick to paint and new hardware for now. But at least that helps make up my mind about going for the less expensive cabinet handles.

HI -- Kari -- If you have a Habitat store .. go and see what they have for cabinets -- sometimes you can find great slightly used cabinets and ones that are an over stock clearance .

If you want a brand new kitchen, just suck it up for now and save. It took us three years with our tiny, poorly laid-out kitchen full of gold-flecked formica, harvest gold sink/oven, warped dark ugly cabinets that gave me splinters, and peeled yellow linoleum...but now we have a gorgeous modern kitchen we can't wait to show off. The benefit of living with it was that we learned exactly what we needed--we got rid of our pantry and expanded our entryway, and went the extra mile to change the layout and put in a bigger window.
