I could have sworn that I sent you some Santos pollen when I sent you those M B seeds. Am I wrong and it was some other pollen? Even though that pollen was frozen, it worked for me, as I got a good seedpod on Sumatra using it which is ripening as we speak!

That aside, I do have some fresh Santos pollen that I can send you if you'd like. I only had two flowers but I certainly have enough to send you some. Let me know and I'll get it in the mail tomorrow, you might even have it by this weekend!

Is there any other pollen that you might like while we're at it? I don't have everything of course but if you list a few maybe I'll have some, I have a ton of Evergreen but you've probably got that....let me know before noon before I seal the envelope!! ☺☺

And I'd like to get from her something like Barbados...what pollen can I use? I have Red Pearl, Double Delicious, Splash, Jhonsonii, Vitatum......another question, what would happen if I use Lagoon or Brazza pollen? I know it is difficult to know exactly what the outcome would bring, but what is the tendency? Thank you guys!

I should think that just about any that you've listed would give you large splashy flowers, how many flowers will you have; if you have 6 or 8 flowers, try one of each!!

By the way I will have some Madame Butterfly seeds for you eventually, her huge pod is still very green with no signs that she want to ripen just yet but I haven't forgotten you. These seeds should be good as last year I only got a self and the seeds were big and strong and lasted a year in the fridge!! They make vigorous seedlings. I'm just dismayed that nothing else took but the self!!

Thank you Donna, there's going to be 12 flowers, I'm going to try everything as you said, let's see ....I saw a garden full of Jhonsonii, most of them with aborted seed pods, but a few were fat and healthy. So these things happen in nature too. The first time I tried to pollinate, it was an Orange Souvereign and it was a complete success, so I thought that it was always going to be like that and it hasn't......Tosca, Purple Rain, nothing....very frustrating.

But also a very rewarding hobby, I have to add....I had an accident 10 days ago, a broken ankle, and taking care of and watching my plants has helped a lot.

I just thought it was rather funny that my very first seedpods were selfs on Orange Sovereign too and I was so over run with seeds I didn't know what to do with them all. This was before I had found this forum. Mercifully, I guess you could say, I lost most all of them to red blotch. You see in those days, I knew nothing and I had them in styrofoam coffee cups and I just watered them to death!!! I only ended up bringing one to bloom and it was a cute smaller orange ruffled flower which died on me later anyway...

Dear Rosina, there are cool little pockets that fit on crutches, but the knee scooter may be a better idea. I had to be on crutches on and off from July to November due to a bad knee injury and surgery. The crutches just made parts of me sore!! Heal quickly.

Hi Rosina, crutches are difficult to handle but at least they help you to move around and watch all your plants. And you will get used to them. I had to use crutches for several months some years ago and I was really fast on them in the end! I could even water my plants with bottles I carried in a bag on my shoulder.

That's how I water the plants yesterday. Thanks Anja, it's true, crutches were getting easier, I was worried to use them in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, I am usually very sleepy and you have to be completely alert when using crutches......but finally, the scooter arrived
