Flowers, no roots, no leaves?

I bought six cuttings from Hawaii airport last August. Planted one when we got home and it did great. Figured I was on the right track and planted the remaining six around Nov-Dec. I have three with full leaves and look well. I had two that shriveled at the base and when I pulled to check them there was no growth, base was still original cutting, no root growth, but rotted looking and all around didn't look healthy so I threw them away. They were short cuttings I don't think I could have saved by trying to cut shorter. My question is about my last cutting. It didn't shrivel like the last two, but it hasn't grown any leaves and when I pulled to check it there was no root growth. Still solid and dry as the day I planted. However, the middle of the cutting just kept growing so I left it alone. It now has shriveled at the base but is still putting out flowers and looks like this...

I am just wondering if there is any hope for this plant to grow leaves and roots or if I should just enjoy the flowers and wait for it to finally die? Never seen anything like this.

Thanks!
