Prune off any stems that are showing no sign of budding or growth - just bare wood. These are dead. And if there are a few of the longer, mostly bare stems with just a touch of new growth showing at the top that seem out of proportion or are bugging you, you can get rid of those as well. They will not overly restrict this season's flowering and if you are anything like me, those long straggly branches will drive you nuts.
