Tile pattern transition

How did you transition the herringbone pattern from the family room and kitchen to the other rooms where the tile was placed straight? I have a small 1500 sq ft home on the east coast of FL and my dilemma Is whether to use the herringbone pattern throughout or break it up like you did in this home. However, it looks like my entire home could fit in the I kitchen and family room of this one! I am concerned breaking up the pattern in a small home will make it look to busy.
