Second grey one!

That space is stunning, but I hate all of the sofa choices. The first one looks like something from a college dorm; the second one is a big ottoman with (stained?) study-buddies. So I guess I'd choose #3 if you can get it in black or a dark grey.

Third, but I would not do white.

None of your sofa choices belong in that fabulous room. Choose any of miacometlady's, and if you're looking for sofas on craigslist, I'd caution that you don't know where they've been.

I agree that none of those sofa fits this penthouses, but could not these two, each costs 30 K. Well, maybe just leave the space empty.

HI -- None of those are sofas . Look at AmericanLeather.com and look at the sectional called Brook .. but look at the sofa (color photo )-- you won't be sorry ... it's beautiful and good quality . Also ... Focusonehome.com ... has many good quality choices .

We live several hours south of Vancouver and found this grey mid century style sofa for less than $500 locally. It's compact and comfortable. I agree with others that your space looks expensive, however, these couches look kind of cheap.

there were practical reasons for considering those 3, cheap, can serves as a bed, not blocking views there.but yes, there seems way too cheap. LOL.

You should find a custom upholster.
It will not be 30k!
If you lived in Montreal I'd have great recommendations for you.
Do you know friends that have worked with designers? Custom upholsters can design the frame based off an image you like. :)

Thank you all, I am going to ditch these three options and search for better ones, will visit Montauk.

None! They are all very much like an IKEA beddinge model that we have in our rental. It's too deep to sit in, so you feel like a 4 yo with legs hanging from it, and it has no arm rests, so you're stuck sitting up.

Also, just a heads up. Take measurements of your space, your doorways, the elevator, and your intended purchase measurements.

You don't want to find this great piece only to bring it or home or have it delivered and it won't fit in the elevator or through the door!

You'd think builders would be better about this (especially in high-rises), but it's still happening.

Very rarely have I seen a futon-style sofa that doesn't look like a futon! Buy a pretty sofa and a nicer air mattress.

Montauk is good for customizing. Choose your dimensions, amount of seats, foam or feather and even fabric. (Check their website for more models).

Rove is good for mid century. :)

Here's what I would do- but ultimately, it depends on your budget:

I'd do a sectional (if it fits) with Montauk,
Then a side chair from Rove :)

I would go with the first grey one and lose the pillows. Simple and clean.

@Shanghai--ooh--the grey rolled arm one in the bottom is my first choice, then the top grey one. I don't care for the sofa with the skirt. You were busy shopping today, lol.

That first sofa has knife edge seat cushions. I've never seen seat cushions like that on a couch, and my guess is they'll last about half a day before you bottom out. The one with the skirt looks like the Ikea Ektorp, so that leaves the Chesterfield as the only acceptable choice. It's a little traditional for that very contemporary penthouse, though.
