In the house we just bought used to be three bathrooms on the 1st floor. Because of that there runs a drainpipe trough our living room. We hoped we could remove the whole pipe so that only the vertical coving (see picture) would remain. But a part of the pipe needs to stay (see picture). We will cover this up like the vertical coving, but we still don't like the look of it. We thought about making a spot in the coving on the ceiling and placing something next to the vertical coving to accentuate the object but still the coving on the ceiling is longer than we'd like.

Does anyone have any ideas on how we can make this better looking?
