Yesterday I was pulling back old pine straw from the tops of my raised beds, and there were colonies of these tiny beetles in the soil. At first i thought they may be flea beetles, but I can't find any photos of flea beetles with this kind of red marking. Some of them were totally shiny black, while many had the red marks.
