Buy the cabinets in the color you want. You will get a better finish.

If you try to paint afterwards you have two options:

• DIY: it will not hold up and will likely not look very nice
• Have a pro do it, which will be much more expensive than just buying the color you like to start with.

So, I would buy the color you want. Better price and quality... when cabinets come from the factory, the finish is baked on and is VERY durable.

Thanks Ben ! while I was going to hire a professional to do the paintin I now kinda realize that the finish may not be as crisp as original. im just trying to see where its a good idea to take the standard options and upgrade those later vs. choosing certain upgrades pre construction

Absolutely agree with PFF. If you have them professionally finished, they will last much longer and look much nicer. Unless you're a professional woodworker, in which case why would you be buying cabinets instead of building them?
