I need new windows and new siding for a cape cod with a 2-stall detatched garage. I would like to stay with vertical siding. Are there insulation values to different types of vertical siding? I have crank-out windows now and would like to stay with them, but I know they're more expensive. I don't necessarily need Anderson, but would like a decent quality. (I know this type of window is more expensive.)

I also have certain colors in mind but am not sure and need to pass my idea by someone (more knowledgeable than I am) to make sure I'm not making a terrible mistake. What about rain gutter and garage doors? Although I might not do all this in 2016, I would at least like to get a plan.

Anyone willing to help???
