Isn't this wonderful! Now it's time to start to start transplanting the ones with true leaves to garden beds. As I'm usually short of time and/or energy, I start planting the biggest, most crowded ones first. If possible, pick a mild, overcast day without much wind. Although I'm not fussy about it, I try to remember to put a marker where I plant something, so I don't accidentally pull it up during a weeding blitz. As with all transplants, you will want to keep it watered until it's well established. Enjoy!

How is it going? You're probably waiting for the second or third set of leaves before you transplant, but sometimes they mature quickly. My cleome didn't germinate--glad yours did!!

I continued to learn lessons from new mistakes! Like being too rough removing the young plants from the cartons. And I think I should have protected them in the ground somehow.. I am now pinning my hopes on cleome that are ready to plant out. By the way, is there any reason to try sowing more seeds in the same containers now? My objective is to grow perennials to fill out my borders.
