Frank, It should not be any different than shipping trees from him. As long as he gives a phytosanitary certificate with them. You do not need an import permit unless you get over 12 at one time.

Ko Chi Lung (Adenium_ko) is very good with this. Definitely EMS shipping for cutting or trees.

Hi Frank! About a month ago I wanted to order some plants from Mr Ko, but they told me that they don't sell plants, seeds only... (?) I'm kinda wondering, maybe they just don't ship them to CA? Let us know if you are able to order cuttings :)

I have never yet ordered any plants that had to be shipped from overseas. I was hoping to buy some cuttings from Mr. Ko.

I dislike all the red tape, importation permit forms, CITES regulations, inspections, confiscations, special shipping charges, etc. Besides, I'd much rather buy from Adenium growers here, in The USA. But who, and where are they???? I have looked on almost all the websites listing Adeniums. Slim pickins' for sure. Home Depot plants are poorly grown, lousy, and half dead. The few USA sources that I managed to find, have very few plants in which I am interested (I prefer varieties having only single-blossoms), and they usually don't have listed phone numbers. The few I contacted are also too slow to respond to e-mailings, if at all. Ebay has plants, but most are.... multi-petaled and imported. One of the top tropical Florida retailers sells plants (no doubt, imported), that are very expensive when shipping is added to the price, lists mostly those varieties having double/triple flowers, or, plants are too often "out-of-stock". Lucky Sumo is gone, Durham Botanicals lists just one variety having single blossoms.

I have just about given up searching for decent plants in the USA. I would just as soon as take my chances rooting some named-variety cuttings from a private source, or from an established hybridizer like Mr. Ko. Seeds can take too long to flower, and it's a crap shoot as to what the flowers will look like, even if grown from the "good" hand-pollinated seeds. I'm running out of options. : ((

Frank, I just ordered from Demmitt it took a bit they are slow to communicate, But they carry his single. Rick and I wanted his Crimson Star .http://lithops.com/adenium.htm It is a long blooming red single that holds it's color from tree to tree. I know you can get them at various places in Tx because they have several growers there.

Frank, the same here! I wasn't able to find any grafted plants locally and still looking for sources... I ended up ordering some from eBay and they actually doing pretty well, but haven't bloom yet. Mary recommended adeniumrose.com , they have a few nice plants with reasonable prices :) and yesterday I bought few plants from one of the forum member here :). I am new to the hobby and haven't seen a blooming Adenium yet, lol. Just enjoying by looking at the pictures here, ahhh....

Thanks for all the suggestions for sourcing Adenium. Most of these retailers have very few, if any, selection of varieties having SINGLE flowers. I do not like doubles and triples....(which look like clumps of tuberous begonias or impatiens), so that eliminates most of the choices.

It's looking more like I will have to take a chance and try to root some cuttings from Ko.

Bad news....I think Mr. Ko only sells plants and seeds....no cuttings. I could be wrong. His website is difficult to navigate.

If anyone knows for sure if Ko sells cuttings, please chime in.

Frank, adenium cuttings will be unusable after two or so weeks in transit from China to the US, anyway. It would desiccate in days, even hours. And yes, even refrigerated.

At this point, I will just have to buy an expensive, named-variety plant, and then grow it for my future supply of scion wood.

I just heard back from http://lithops.com/adenium.htm, Demmitt original plants are not available. They said the have rooted cutting's cloned. That is a shame I know several people who would like Crimson Star or other of his with a caudex.
