i live in philippines which is a tropical country. the picture below is the soilless potting mix that i bought. it doesnt indicate exactly of what's in the potting mix.

You need a quick draining soil mix. I used Gritty mix but then had to add to it because we are so dry in my area. So I added a small amount of coir powder

thanks marica, i took a picture of my soil mix. i think it has a right amount of husk and coir. most soil mix that are being sell from a local garden stores here contains a huge amount of coconut husks and coir and rice grains as it is our country's main agriculture.

It looks light weight. Test it by putting it in a bowl with water. let set a bit. Then put a clump in your hand see if the water drains. Or if you have planted in it already water till water runs through it. Then after a little bit stick you finer in to see it is loose not soggy.
